Rose Carnahan, Lead Pre-Primary Teacher. I first discovered Montessori while searching for a preschool for my daughter.  I knew that I wanted a school that was peaceful and kind as well as a school where she would learn amazing things.  I knew immediately I had found what I was looking for upon visiting MCH.  What I didn't know was what an amazing journey we both started that day 32 years ago. My favorite Montessori quote is... "Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future...let us treat them...with all the kindness which we would wish to help to develop in them." Maria Montessori.

Michelle "Mikie" Laughlin, Lead Pre-Primary Teacher. Montessori is an educational philosophy and method, yet it is so much more. Dr. Maria Montessori wrote 'our goal is not so much the imparting of knowledge as the unveiling and developing of spiritual energy (of each child).' As Montessori teachers, we set up the classroom so everything is ready and enticing for the children to explore and manipulate according to their inner needs. As guides we observe the children so we can continuously evolve the classroom as the children's needs evolve. We respect, nurture and love each child as unique individuals.

Carey Wilson, Lead Toddler Teacher. My Montessori education has been a journey that started at four years old when I entered a beautifully prepared and engaging environment for the first time. I look back on my time in the classroom with great fondness. I still feel the sense of love--for the teachers and the work. As an educator, the Montessori philosophy drives the preparation of my environment through child-centered planning. Most importantly, it celebrates the child for who they are and where they are at developmentally.

"The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope... hope for peace in the future."  - Maria Montessori
